Vestry Minutes - May 8, 2010

Review of April 2010 minutes - approved by all
Old Business:
Discussion of outreach meeting to set time and date, possibly after the Sunday service on May 23rd.
Wedding after church on April 23 at 2 pm
Fund raising meeting to be held May 26th at 7:30 pm - the group will discuss the roof party and endowment Sunday. Zion will have their boot sale June 19 - perhaps someone can get some more details on that.
Discussion about selling slates from the roof and decorations for the roof party.
New Business:
Vestry vacancy - Nancy is moving out of the area. Secretary position will be open, as well as a new vestry position. Astrid and Diane nominated Terry Fetters for the secretary position as a non-voting member (in keeping with usual protocol). Discussion and motion by Larry and seconded by Diane. All approved.
Additional vestry spot discussed, with Astrid and Diane recommending either Stacey or Colin Cuite (Astrid suggested allowing them to decide which would like to do it). If one of them accepts, the motion to bring them on will be made at the next vestry meeting.
Gift for Nancy discussed, possibly one of the slates with a drawing.
Church clean-up day to be held May 15, 9 - 12 noon. Property committee sets tasks for the day.
Astrid will be on vacation Jun 8 to 14. Diane will run June vestry meeting.
Cleaning services were discussed, esp. the need to find someone who would have appropriate liability and worker’s compensation.
